Over the past few years, wearing your natural hair has become more and more popular in the black community. We often hear conversations about textures and the big chop and so much in between. Everyone's hair is different, but here is my list of go-to products. (Links in bold)

Define/Twisting Creams

1. Eden Body Works Natural Curl Defining Cream

This is the cream that I probably use the most because it's the least expensive out of the few I use.  It doesn't leave any residue on the hair like some other brands. What I love most about this curl defining cream is the amount that you get. It's a pretty decent size so you can get a lot of use out of it.

2. As I am Twist Defining Cream

As I am is a little more on the pricey side but works really well. It smells great and creates that defined look in your twist outs.

- Twist out tip: Make your twist tighter at the top so it won't be puffy on top and defined at the end of your hair. The tightness of how you do your twists also has to do with the outcome of how defined your hair turns out. Taking smaller or bigger chunks of hair is also something to keep in mind when wanting to get the perfect twist out. It depends on the amount of hair you have.

3. Camille Rose Almond Jay Twisting Butter

I am a firm believer in only promoting things that I honestly like and believe actually work. I had the pleasure of working with the Camille Rose brand years ago at a convention. I completely stand by the products mentioned as I have personally used all of them myself. I love this twisting butter not only because of the incredible smell, but because it truly defines your twist out and also doesn't leave a residue.

Hair Oil

1. Camille Rose Honey Hydrate

When looking for hair oils, I look for products that aren't too runny. Because the main ingredient is honey, it also has the same texture. Having a thick oil is good because you don't have to use so much and it lasts longer. A small amount goes a long way.

2. Jamaican Mango & Lime Black Castor Oil in Coconut

For some reason, this particular hair oil is very hard to find in my local beauty supply stores. I used to get so many compliments every time I applied it to my hair just by walking past someone. The coconut spell is absolutely amazing!

3. Eden Body Works Peppermint Tea Tree Hair Oil

I'm a sucker for peppermint! It's just something about it that makes me happy! Even one of my favorite home scents is peppermint. The only thing that I wish changed about this product is the packaging because it comes in a spray bottle and I personally like to transfer my hair oil into a plastic bottle that has a nozzle.

Shampoo & Conditioners

1. Cantu Cream Shampoo and Conditioner

2. As I am Shampoo

3. As I am Leave-in Conditioner

4. Design Essentials Shampoo

5. Design Essentials Conditioner

All of these shampoo and conditioners work really good and are what I personally stick too. Not all natural hair products work well on every hair type. My hair type is a mix of both 4B and 4C. What's yours? If you want me to do a post on what products I've tried that I didn't like, comment below.
