5 Ways to Motivate Yourself
Finding ways to become motivated in quarantine can be difficult. Things are slowly beginning to improve but at the moment, no one knows for sure when things will get back to normal. The truth of that matter is what used to be our normal might not be the same as it used to and that's ok. Here are just a few ways that I keep myself in good spirits and motivated during this time. Maybe it can help you or someone you know.
1. Come up with a plan
Due to the pandemic, many people have lost their jobs and others have even thought about not returning. The important thing is to realize that there can always be a positive out of a situation and it's up to you to make one. If you're not happy with your current situation, use this time to explore what it is you really want to do and how to get there.
2. Try a new recipe
I love trying new recipes! I often times go to Pinterest and just look up different things I'd love to try. With so much time spent at home, now is the perfect time to work on your cooking skills. Use this time as a way to be innovative a try something new. It doesn't have to be difficult. It can even be a 3 or 4 ingredient meal. You'd be surprised at the varieties that are out there. You just might like it.
3. Find a hobby
Finding something that you love to do outside of work is very helpful in remaining motivated. For me, I found that I love to write and create informing content. I'm also really into art and drawing so I recently purchased an adult coloring book. Some people like to read or get cross word books. These things are great ways to pass the time by. Maybe even see if you can monetize off of your hobby!
4. Utilize facetime
You don't have to have an iphone to connect with people. There are multiple Apps such as Zoom that you can use to video chat with multiple people at a time. You might feel alone but remember we are all alone together.
5. Get in shape
The transformation I have had during this quarantine has been night and day. When it all started, I was eating pretty much anything I wanted and wasn't really working out. I didn't expect the shut down to last for as long as it did. Soon after, I began to gain weight and I just wasn't happy about it. There are numerous routines that can be found online that you can do from home or you can go to a park and workout. I enjoy going to the park for the scenery and to be around like minded people who are also there to get out of the house and get exercise. I now workout 3 to 4 times a week. Try it out!
