What's in My Cup?

LIFESTYLE | 11.18.20

This may come as a shock, but I haven't drank coffee in years! It just doesn't agree with my stomach. Not only that, I really don't consume a lot of dairy products. I would get so jealous hearing about the seasonal creamers knowing I couldn't really enjoy them. But all hope isn't lost because I found some great alternatives!

1. Black tea with Almond Milk Creamer in the flavor Hazelnut

By reading the title, it sounds like a lot going on but I promise it's absolutely delicious! I find myself drinking this almost everyday. I personally like using Earl Grey Black tea. Black tea is preferred because I wanted it to be as close to coffee as possible. Other flavored tea won't work as well. However, I have heard that English Breakfast is a good substitute too. Adding cream in tea is nothing new, it's really popular practice with the British.

2. Spiked Apple Cider

I came across this combo last year at an exclusive shopping party around Christmas. It was so good I just had to make it on my own! It's a great drink if your having a small gathering for the holidays or even if you are just in the mood for an alcoholic beverage but don't want to drink wine. All you need is your favorite brand of apple cider served warm, a bottle of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey, and a little bit of sugar depending on how sweet you like it. I decided to not put measurements because the ingredients are pretty simple and you just add them according to your likeness. If you are by yourself, you can always get the small shot size bottles. They vary in price but at the liquor store near me, I can get them for like 3 bucks! If you want to add a garnish you can always cut up some round apple slices and sprinkle a hint of cinnamon but as always, please be sure to drink responsibly.

Have you ever tasted either one of these drinks? Do you have a drink recipe you would like to share? Comment below.
